About the course:

This course gives you the opportunity to enrich your knowledge and skills in the effective way of interviewing and supporting vulnerable child witness.

By the end of the course you should be able to:

• Show knowledge of the guidance and the relevant legislation in relation to interviewing and supporting vulnerable child witness

• Define the key child development theories that may have an impact on a child witness

• Demonstrate skills in the interviewing of vulnerable/intimidated witnesses in accordance with the guidance framework

• Recognize and apply the principles of multi-agency working

• Develop strategies for planning and co-ordinating interviews

• Describe the requirements for the support and preparation of witnesses

• Recognize the emotional impact of the work and identify support systems.
